In 1986 he was a founder and personal funder of the Lakewood Capital Group. In addition, he is a past Director and Officer of the Montreal Society of Financial Analysts as well as a past Chairman of the Canadian Securities Institute. Paul has also served as Vice Chairman and Governor of the Montreal Exchange

Currently EVP and a Director of Corporate Finance and shareholder of the investment banking firm of Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon & Company Limited, Toronto, Canada from 1970 to present.

A mining engineer and founding member of S.L.M. El Indio mining company. Subsequently became Manager of Exploration Administration for St. Joe Minerals, the subsequent owner of El Indio and Pascua, both of which he is an original owner.

He subsequently participated in a program run by BTX Ltd for Anglo American/Cominco where the projects Marte-Lobo, Esperanza, the Maricunga Belt, Pimenton, West Wall and Novicio were discovered. He was the original partner in the acquisition of Refugio (today the Maricunga Mine of Kinross) and Santa Cecilia, and member of the team which discovered Regalito, now Pan Pacific Copper’s Caserones project.

Mario joined Cerro Grande Mining Company as shareholder, Director and EVP Claims and Administration in 1994.

Managed the Pimenton mine from 2007 til 2017.

Joined Schroder Bank & Trust Co,, subsequently IBJ Schroder Bank & Trust Co,, and rose to SVP heading the Latin American Division.

In 1988 became a Managing Director of G.H. Capital Management Corp. NY, NY and Chairman of Givens Hall Bank & Trust Ltd Cayman Islands.

Graduated from the University of Toronto with Bachelor of Commerce Degree and admitted to memberships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1995.

From 1998 to 2000 was with Norton McMullen & Co. LLP where he started as a staff accountant working up to Manager in charge of various engagements.

In 2000 to the present he is President of Palmer Services In., which provides accounting and controller services to multinational corporations who have a presence in Canada. He is owner of Peter W. Hogg, Chartered Accountants providing assurance and tax work to owner managed companies as well as audit services to not-for-profit organizations.

He was elected Chief Financial Officer of Cerro Grande Mining Corporation in 2008.
